After teaching for 25 years, God has retired me and opened the door for much more ministry time in Guatemala! I am very grateful to share with you that I have been accepted by OCI – One Challenge International – as a short-term ministry missionary. This means that I can raise support for ministry trip expenses with the oversight of a mission board!

At this point, my status is for short term ministry only. I can raise support for all expenses related to my trips but not for personal support. I am in the process of joining the mission full time but, in the meantime, I am grateful for this status. Having this account means that I can raise support for one-time gifts and for regular monthly gifts. All donations are important, and none are too small. Even after 23 years, raising support is difficult — who wants to ask other people for money on a regular basis? — but it is vital to my ministry. Prayer is the most important support you can give me, but the fact remains that I cannot go without financial support. If you can support me financially, the instructions for that are at the end of my letter. Each trip costs about $1300.

I am returning to Guatemala next Monday, October 28th through November 12th, for women’s ministry events in Jutiapa, Guatemala City, and Huehuetenango. I will be serving with five other women from Minnesota, Iowa, and North Dakota. Since I have just begun to raise regular support, my account is still short for this trip. Please pray that God will provide the financial support that I need.

Our women’s ministry team is called Mujeres en Cristo. Our goal is to encourage women in the churches to invite their unsaved friends, family, and neighbors to come for a time of music, testimonies, prayer, and a lesson on the lies Satan wants us to believe – all with the hope that the Gospel will be clearly and winsomely presented. We also hope to encourage the women in the church to start their own ministry to the women around them. Please pray for me and my team:

·       Pray for the women God is preparing to attend our meetings. Pray that God will prepare their hearts to hear and respond. Pray that we will be sensitive to the Holy Spirit as we prepare our programs for each church.

·       Please pray that God will provide the financial support that I need. Please give praise with me for the many ways God has provided for my living expenses since I do not have a regular income. Please pray that I will trust him to continue to provide.
